about Tony Roche.
Tony Roche Artist b.1961 (Auckland, New Zealand).
Tony began his self-taught painting career at age 18, inspired by his mother’s encouragement and resulting in an awareness and love of the beautiful New Zealand landscape.
Having lived and travelled throughout the North and South Island, Tony has gained an understanding and appreciation of the diversity and beauty of the New Zealand scenery, which he illustrates in oils using vibrant colours. His works feature New Zealand's beautiful trees and bush, seascapes and snow-capped mountains and valleys.
He is an acclaimed award-winning Landscape artist and has a large following in both New Zealand and overseas and has exhibited extensively throughout his home country.
In 2013 he won 3rd place (small painting) at Royal Easter show and been commissioned for the prestigious Tanner Couch Calendar as their Executive category Artist. In 2011 he got Merit award (professional) at Royal Easter show and won the People’s choice for two of his paintings at the ‘Art at the Estuary’ Hibiscus Coast Hospice fundraising exhibition.
Tony regularly conducts demonstrations to Art groups throughout the country, as well as teaching One Day Workshop to adults and children. He also organizes and teaches children’s art class during school holiday.
Tony would like to help people to appreciate art, he has made numerous donations to charities and school fairs with his art.
Tony works out of his studio in Canterbury, New Zealand.
